Our oral histories are
recorded memories of many different people who have specific recollections of Pennsylvania
State Police events or experiences which helped shape the heritage that is the
Pennsylvania State Police. |

|
Over the last 100 years of
Pennsylvania State Police history, very few books have been written about the
Pennsylvania State Police. While there are many stories and accounts of "the way it
was," little has been compiled. The Oral History Project is an effort to do just
that; compile the everyday occurrences that have shaped the PA State Police and made it
what it is today-the finest State Police agency in the world. |

We have trained and provided
our interviewers with the necessary tools and techniques in researching, recording and
documenting these recollections. |

The Pennsylvania State Police
Oral History Project in conjunction with the Pennsylvania State Police Historical,
Educational & Memorial Center has received funding from the Pennsylvania Historical
& Museum Commission and the Pennsylvania State Police Centennial Committee, which
makes it possible for us to pursue this worthy project. |
